Ohio Edison Elyria Service Center

my service was shut off, and they demanded $600.00 to turn back on. finally was able to pay the next morning, and it’s taken them 8 hours to turn service back on, and still counting. i’ve called them many times throughout the day and they all give me a different story. one person says it’ll take 1-2 hours. another says by 6pm the latest, and another says they don’t know a time frame. ohio edison is completely GARBAGE. always overcharge.

Make sure your power doesn’t go out when it’s not business hours because they don’t care about you as a customer unless it’s between Monday and Friday.

I live on Ashland Ct. in Elyria and our street light pole was knocked down last November 2024. The light pole still has not been replaced. We have called many times over the last year and get the same answer, we are working on it. I called today (Friday Nov. 14, 2025) to find out the status. The ticket number that we had according to the Customer NOService that the situation has been closed and resolved. I told her NO, the pole has not been replaced. She transferred me to another customer service and they were worthless in helping. He told me it has been flagged ;and will be worked on in the near future. We should be able to withhold payment from this worthless company until they fix the problem.

This is my first time reading the reviews for them and it’s exactly what I thought it would be. Ohio Edison is 8 min from my apartment. It’s going on two weeks we haven’t had power. How is this company still in business? By far one of the worst experiences I ever had to face in life.
